It's common for celebrities and non-celebrities alike to post a childhood photo or a #TBT photo on Instagram every now and then. Sometimes, you can see the similarities between the younger version of your favorite star and what they look like today. But other times, the celebrity throwback can throw you off. On Thursday, Feb. 25, a certain redhead celebrity shared a photo of herself as a kid and as an adult. She referenced an ongoing social media trend where people write "little/big" and share an old picture and a recent one. We'll show you the kid photo first, and you can see if you can figure out who it is.
And to take a look at another star when she was younger, here's Priyanka Chopra's Throwback Photo of Herself at 17.
So, what do we know? Well, she has red hair. And with that vintage dress and the quality of the photo, she's not a Gen Z star who was born in the year 2000. And, if you need another hint, she grew up outside of the U.S.
….Nicole Kidman! The actor posted this photo along with the one of herself as a child on Instagram, and captioned the post, "Little Nic → Big Nic."
Kidman was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 20, 1967. She moved with her Australian parents back to their home country when she was four and was raised in Sydney. In a 2014 interview with InStyle, Kidman said that she made up an interesting tale about herself for her Australian friends. "I used to pretend to the kids at school that I was born right on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu," she told the magazine. "I was actually delivered in a hospital—but it sounded good, and they believed me."
She also shared that her husband, country singer Keith Urban, sometimes calls her by her Hawaiian name. "My mum called me Hokulani. It means heavenly star," she told InStyle (via E! Online). "That's something no one really knows. Well, Keith knows it. He calls me Hokulani sometimes."

In 2019, Kidman shared some other old photos of herself, including this one where she's hanging out with her family's cats. "I've always been a cat girl (and now I'm a cat and dog girl!)" she wrote. "Celebrating #InternationalCatDay with a #TBT of some of the cats I grew up with: Priscilla, Chauncy and Gregory."

Even though she doesn't hold back as an actor, Kidman has called herself "shy." In 2005, she was interviewed on 60 Minutes Australia by her childhood friend Peter Overton. "There were times when I was deeply unhappy as a child. Just with who I was," she revealed in the interview. "I think a lot of children were like that." She added that because she was so shy, things like walking down the aisle of the school bus were really intimidating for her.
In the InStyle interview, Kidman reflected on her childhood and said, "I'm very country at heart. I have a real desire to be outdoors, a desire for simplicity—a slightly slower, relaxed approach to life. A community, not a big-city feel. That's what I grew up with, and it's what I prefer."
And that's, at least partially, what she has now. Kidman, Urban, and their two children, live in a farmhouse in Australia—albeit a very big, very expensive one. In a video interview with Vogue, she said her favorite part of living there was "the simplicity, the air, the peace."
