Your Minecraft Subscription Is Now Minecraft Realms Plus, Because More Words Is Better, Right?

Minecraft developer Mojang today announced it has changed its subscription service, Minecraft Realms, into Minecraft Realms Plus. It’s the same price and still provides access to a private server, but in addition it now offers members 50 pieces of Minecraft Marketplace content—like skins, mini-games, and adventures—at no extra cost.

The sub will run you $7.99 a month to gain access to a private server that allows you to play with up to 10 friends. The blog post detailing these changes explains that free content will be released for members each month, but what that additional content will be is currently unknown.

Anyone who already has a subscription to Minecraft Realms has been moved over to the new Plus service. Again, because there are no extra costs associated with it, players should not notice a difference beyond the name change of the service.
