12 Best Mods For SpellForce 3 Customization FandomSpot

August 2024 · 6 minute read

Many will likely agree: SpellForce 3 is quite a fun game. And in my opinion does a fantastic job of setting the tone for the story told in the original SpellForce game.

Although the game was released in 2017, it has some of the best modders in the community. And the best part about these addons?

They’re all completely free.

If you’ve already completed the game and you’re looking to spice things up (or give the game another opportunity after all these years), then you’ve come to the right place.

I’ve compiled a handful of awesome mods that you can install for SpellForce 3 to improve the game overall, and give it a tone of customization like never before. Try them out and see what you think!

12. Horde Green Woods

A cool new expedition to spice things up a little bit is what you’ll get with the Horde Green Woods mods.

You will be on your way to find some rare plants and bring them back.

But wait, that’s not all – something is going to go terribly wrong. Do you want to find out what is it?

Then download this mod and embark on a little adventure in the furthest part of the forest!

11. SF 3 Extended Loading Screen

This mod doesn’t really enhance gameplay, but it sure as hell makes the game far more entertaining whilst waiting for areas to load.

It basically adds new pieces of artwork to the loading screens of the game.

There’s a total of 10 pieces of work that you can add to the game with this mod, and they look fantastic (mainly because they are basically official artwork of SF3).

In any case, if you’re keen to give the game a fresher look there’s no better mod than this one.

10. Lord of the Rings Mod Pack 3

This mod is a compilation of changes made to the game which, when put together, make certain areas of the game resemble areas of the LOTR franchise.

Let’s face it: LotR and SF3 have plenty of things in common. And this mod shapes the game to make it look far more like as if SF3 was part of the Lord of the Rings universe.

Character changes, new areas, and map modifications galore are there to be found if you give this a try. Lovely!

9. Rotate with CTRL – A QOL Mod

How easier would our lives be if we could simply rotate the screen using CTRL?

Well the answer is: much easier!

Find out how fantastically easy it is to rotate the screen like this by installing this practical mod.

8. SF 3 Script Engine

I’m adding this one to the list in case you wish to customize the game on your own.

It makes it much easier for you to create map customizations and mods per se.

You don’t need to have a lot of programming knowledge or coding understanding if you wish to make this game work.

But you do need to have a good idea of what you want to achieve.

That’s modder-talk, though, and I’m not too good at that. But I’m including this mod in case you are(or if you want to learn!)

7. SpellForce 3 First Person Mod

Check Out This Mod

Trust me, you’ll want to play this game in first person once you’ve given it a go for the first time.

It might not seem like a huge change, but the gameplay improves so much that you won’t want to go back.

And if you want to give the game’s story another round, why do it in the traditional way when you can spice things up?

6. SpellForce 3 Community Content Patch 2

Check Out This Mod

This amazing mod is a compilation of five different packs that make the game much more complete and in-depth.

The mod adds a whole new part of lore explanations for the nerdy ones out there who love the story, as well as complete areas and five different new maps that enrich the game experience.

All of the changes are made by the community, but it does feel like this is an official path thanks to the high level of quality and details that were included on this mod.

Not as simple as others, but complex enough to make you fall in love with it.

5. Aura Duration Tweak

Check Out This Mod

Let me preface this explanation by warning that this mod can break the game.

But that hasn’t stopped the community from downloading it hundreds of times thanks to being one of the most requested features over the years.

This mod allows you to have auras stack and makes them last for as long as one hour in the game.

You’ll be able to access a ton of buffs like it wasn’t possible before, and stacking them will be easier than ever. Truly something else.

As I said though, it can be game-breaking so keep that in mind.

4. Saved by Noria

SF3 might be a fantastic game, but the prologue is by far one of the most annoying things ever if you’re trying to start a new save.

In fact, watching it and playing it can get really old, really quickly.

This mod aims to give you an alternative prologue to the one that the game comes with to simplify the way things work and make it move much faster.

If you’re going to start a new game I really suggest you install this mod first.

It’s going to save you a lot of time and trouble.

3. SpellForce 3 Community Content Patch

Check Out This Mod

This is an even better content patch than the last one on this list.

In fact, it’s a more complete version of the last one. And you’re surely going to love it if you want the game to feel more complete.

It adds new content as well as new lore and maps, making the game far more enjoyable to those who have completed the story multiple times.

2. Leader Auras Tweak

Check Out This Mod

This is a similar mod to the one I’ve reviewed already, but it works a bit differently since its main target are NPCs that aren’t active in your current party.

It basically allows auras to stack and be adopted by characters that are not currently active.

Gone are the days of switching between groups to see skills and buffs.

1. SpellForce 3 Anniversary Community Patch

Check Out This Mod

When it comes to complete overhauls, this is the one mod that you’re going to want to download.

It adds over a dozen new maps, a ton of new loading screens, compatibility changes, new stories that are completely friendly to the lore of the game, and a few guides that aim to improve SF3 and give you in-game tools to complete otherwise difficult quests and missions.

The list is practically endless here so you’ll really want to check it out for yourself.

Enjoy a complete overhaul of the game and never get bored of SpellForce.
